Role Overview

An experienced and proactive Maintenance Manager is sought to lead maintenance operations across fleet, plant, and facilities. This role is critical in ensuring reliability, safety, and efficiency of equipment supporting quarry operations and road surfacing projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance and servicing of HGVs, construction plant, and site equipment.

  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimise downtime.

  • Lead and supervise a team of fitters, mechanics, and support staff.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Manage maintenance budgets, procurement of parts, and contractor relationships.

  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and service history.

  • Coordinate emergency repairs and ensure rapid response to breakdowns.

  • Liaise with project managers and site supervisors to align maintenance with operational requirements.

  • Drive continuous improvement in maintenance practices and asset performance.


Requirements

  • Proven experience in a maintenance management role, ideally within quarry, construction, or civil engineering sectors.

  • Strong technical knowledge of HGVs, plant machinery, and workshop operations.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

  • Proficient in maintenance planning and asset management systems.

  • Full clean driving licence (HGV licence desirable).

  • Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering, plant maintenance, or related field.
