Overview / Purpose
The Key Account Manager (KAM) will be responsible for managing and growing strategic accounts in Ireland for the full product portfolio. In addition to maintaining relationships and growing revenue within existing accounts, a prime focus will be acquiring, developing, and converting new accounts — expanding market share, improving presence, and ensuring the brand is well represented across relevant industries in Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
- Account Management & Growth
- Serve as main contact for assigned key accounts; understand their business, priorities, technical needs.
- Prepare account plans: revenue targets, product mix, growth strategies.
- Up-sell / cross-sell the product range.
- Monitor account performance (sales, margin, product mix) and take corrective actions if required.
- Reviewing customer feedback to identify areas for improvement
- Liaising with existing clients to manage expectations and nurture relationships
- New Business Development
- Identify and qualify prospective customers; devise strategies for lead generation in target sectors (e.g. manufacturing, food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, HVAC, cold chain, industrial automation).
- Prospect: outreach, meetings, presentations, quotations, negotiating contracts.
- Contribute to the development of pricing / proposals and ensure competitiveness while protecting margin.
- Ability to push forward ones own training needs by spending time with design and manufacturing team at the companies various premises.
- Liaise with technical teams / product / R&D to ensure customer requirements (customisation's, calibrations, etc.) are met.
- Provide product feedback upward (market trends, customer feature demands).
- Sales Planning & Reporting
- Build forecasts, pipelines, report regularly on sales performance, lead status, risks, and opportunities.
- Develop territory / account strategies aligned with overall company goals.
- Set measurable KPIs (new account targets, revenue, margin, product mix, customer satisfaction).
- Set and track sales account targets, aligned with company objectives
- Work closely with internal teams: marketing (for campaigns, collateral), operations / logistics (ensure delivery, service), customer support / technical support.
- Work with distributor networks (if applicable) to ensure product availability, promotion, and co-selling.
- Represent company externally: trade shows, conferences, industry events in Ireland.
- Ensure high level of customer satisfaction: follow up on issues, ensure after-sales support, calibration services, warranty, etc.
- Monitor customer product usage, feedback, renewal of contracts, repeat orders.
- Required to be on site dealing with the customer from project start to finish, ensuring where issues arise during the project that these are rectified in a timely manner.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven Sales / Account Management Experience
- At least 5 years in technical sales / account management in industrial sensors, instrumentation, control systems, or related engineering products.
- Experience growing both existing accounts and building new ones from scratch in a B2B industrial environment.
- Comfort with technical product(s)
- Ability to interpret technical documents, liaise with engineering/technical stakeholders in customer organisations.
- Strong negotiation skills; pricing, contract terms, margins.
- Excellent stakeholder management: internal and external.
- Excellent verbal and written communication. Able to present technically complex products simply to various audiences.
- Fluent in English; other languages a plus but not required unless relevant to specific customer groups.
- Self-starter, results-driven, resilient.
- Customer-oriented, with a strong sense of accountability.
- Strategic thinker, but also hands-on: able to roll up sleeves to generate leads, visit customers, and close deals.

- Ability to travel
- Regular travel within Ireland; occasional travel abroad as needed (for HQ, trade shows, training).
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Science, or related discipline; alternatively strong technical sales background.
- Prior experience selling across multiple product lines (e.g. sensors, instrumentation).
- Experience working with distributors / channel partners advantageous.
