We’re working with a VC-backed EdTech startup on a mission to reinvent how educational institutions manage their data, workflows, and student progress. They are building a new generation of software to support schools around the world.
They are growing the engineering team and are looking for someone passionate about crafting reliable, maintainable backend systems to support our mission of transforming education at scale.
The Role
As a Backend Engineer, you’ll be working closely with our QA and support teams to debug complex issues, implement improvements to existing systems, and support the onboarding of new clients. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving real-world problems and making iterative enhancements to a modern production system.
Key Responsibilities

Investigate and resolve issues in production and staging environments

Work with QA and support teams to triage, reproduce, and document bugs

Deliver improvements to existing backend services

Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code

Assist with onboarding client data into our systems
What We’re Looking For

Proficiency in Java and SQL

Strong understanding of Spring or similar backend frameworks

Solid debugging and problem-solving skills

Experience with REST APIs (GraphQL is a plus)

Familiarity with Git and modern development tools

Bonus: Some experience with frontend frameworks like ReactJS
