My client, a leading HGV Dealer and Service Centre, is in need of a Bodyshop Manager to come in a lead a highly skilled team in their centre based in Naas, Co. Kildare.

My client is looking for an experienced HGV Mechanic Supervisor to take charge of the workshop floor, ensuring commercial vehicles are completed to spec, on time, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the preparation of new and used trucks, ensuring all mechanical and electrical works are completed to customer specifications.
  • Plan and delegate daily workloads to technicians, ensuring productivity and timelines are met.
  • Monitor and maintain workflow across the workshop – ensuring no delays in the sales process.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Sales Team regarding vehicle progress, flagging any delays or changes to handover dates.
  • Order and track parts, keeping the Bodyshop planner fully up to date.
  • Carry out quality checks on completed work, ensuring high standards and full functionality of all systems and add-ons.
  • Promote a clean, safe, and efficient working environment – ensuring compliance with all H&S procedures.
  • Support training, performance management, and timekeeping for your team.
  • Participate in and promote continuous improvement across workshop operations.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or lead technician role within an HGV or commercial vehicle environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical vehicle systems.
  • Ability to project-manage the prep and repair process from start to finish.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering customer-ready vehicles.
  • Computer literate, with the ability to use workshop and scheduling systems.
  • HGV or PSV licenses are advantageous.
