My client, a leading and long-established main contractor with a strong reputation in commercial, industrial, and pharmaceutical construction, is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to oversee Environmental, Health & Safety performance across multiple projects in Cork and the wider Munster region.
This is a senior-level position suited to an experienced EHS professional who wants to contribute strategically while remaining hands-on in driving best practice, compliance, and a strong safety culture across project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the implementation, monitoring, and continuous development of the company’s Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Management System

Ensure full compliance with Irish Health & Safety legislation, environmental regulations, and company standards

Provide expert guidance, coaching, and support to site management teams, supervisors, and subcontractors on all EHS matters

Coordinate and deliver Health & Safety training, including site inductions, toolbox talks, and task-specific training
-
Develop and review site-specific documentation such as risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), safe plans of action, and permit-to-work systems

Conduct regular site inspections and audits, reporting findings to project and senior management, and ensuring timely close-out of corrective actions

Lead incident and accident investigations, ensure accurate reporting, root cause analysis, and communication of lessons learned

Maintain EHS registers, documentation, KPIs, and monthly reports to management and directors

Support project close-out by compiling relevant safety documentation for inclusion in the Safety File and client handover

Promote a proactive safety culture and uphold the company’s commitment to a safe, healthy, and incident-free workplace
Key Requirements:

Relevant third-level qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety or related discipline

Minimum of 8+ years’ EHS experience within construction, commercial or pharmaceutical projects (main contractor experience preferred)

Strong knowledge of Irish EHS legislation, industry best practices, and management systems such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001

Proven experience working on large-scale or complex construction projects

Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills

Strong IT proficiency, including MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and digital safety platforms

Ability to work on own initiative while collaborating effectively within a project team

Full, clean Irish driving licence essential
