Our client, based in West Cork requires a Health & Safety Manager to lead and develop the company’s Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) strategy across two key production sites in West Cork and Waterford.
Commutable from Macroom, Bandon, Dunmanway, Bantry, Clonakilty.
Reporting to the Head of Business Operations, this is a high-impact role where you will ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance, while supporting a culture of continuous improvement and employee well-being.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement EHS policies and strategies to protect people, the environment, and ensure ongoing legal compliance.
• Drive site wide compliance with established EHS practices and procedures.
• Ensure adherence to COMAH/Seveso
regulations and liaise with the Health & Safety Authority as required.
• Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
• Lead accident and incident investigations, ensuring timely implementation of preventative measures.
• Identify training needs, deliver mandatory training, and maintain accurate employee training records.
• Monitor legislative updates to maintain compliance with HSE and COMAH regulations.
• Regularly review and update the company’s Safety Statement.
• Oversee IPC Licence compliance and drive best-in-class environmental practices.

Ideal Candidate
• Proven experience in a Health & Safety management role within manufacturing, engineering, food & beverage, or related sectors.
• Strong knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation, COMAH/Seveso regulations, and environmental compliance.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and training skills.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach to promoting a strong safety culture.
