Health & Safety Officer – Offaly
My client a leading global medical device manufacturer are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Officer to join their team in Offaly. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team where you will take the lead on safety initiatives and play a key role in maintaining and improving site-wide health and safety standards.
This role will suit someone with strong manufacturing experience who is confident engaging at all levels of the business and is passionate about driving a proactive, high-performance safety culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
- Promote safe working practices, including correct PPE usage and adherence to safety protocols.
- Support the ongoing development and implementation of the site’s Health & Safety Management System.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections to identify hazards and recommend improvements.
- Lead or support incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented and tracked.
- Develop and deliver Health & Safety training for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation required for internal and external compliance.
- Collaborate with managers, engineers, and teams to improve safety performance and reduce risk.
- Monitor legal compliance requirements and ensure the site meets all regulatory obligations.
- Actively contribute to building a positive Health & Safety culture across the organisation.
Requirements:
- Degree in Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent recognised qualification) is essential.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within a regulated sector.
- Proven track record of Health & Safety management in an operational setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Comfortable using Health & Safety software systems and digital reporting tools.
