FRS Recruitment are working with a University Teaching Hospital in Cork to recruit for the position of Registrar in Gastroenterology. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and supportive team in one of Ireland’s leading teaching hospitals, renowned for its commitment to clinical excellence and patient-centred care.
The Role:
As Registrar in Gastroenterology, you will play a key role in the delivery of high-quality care to patients with gastrointestinal conditions. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will gain valuable experience across a wide spectrum of gastroenterological services including endoscopy, inpatient care, and outpatient clinics.
Based at the headquarters of Gastroenterology for Cork, this role involves working as part of a team that provides a holistic diagnostic and therapeutic gastroenterology service. The Centre provides a tertiary referral service for several endoscopic techniques and also provides a nationwide service . The Centre provides approximately 3,500 endoscopic procedures per annum. There are two outpatient clinics per week. The department provides a 1:4 general medical call.
- Tertiary referral GI endoscopy service - ERCP / diagnostic and therapeutic EUS / EMR / RFA / luminal stenting / colon cancer screening, etc.
- IBD Centre (over 2,000 IBD patients on database).
- Regional GI Physiology Service (oesophageal high resolution manometry / impedance / LPR studies, anorectal high resolution manometry, breath testing service (H. pylori, SIBO, disaccharide intolerance), video capsule endoscopy service).
Requirements:

Strong and demonstrable experience in General Medicine and Gastroenterology

Full registration with the Irish Medical Council(or eligibility for same)

Excellent communication, clinical, and team-working skills

Must be available to commence immediately
