Garden Centre Supervisor - Co. Longford
Reporting to the Store Manager, you will be essential to the success of the Store. We require a responsible and enthusiastic person with a love of gardening to work in the Garden Centre, handling a wide range of products. The successful person must be able to work on their own but also work as part of a team. Consistently delivering excellent customer service whilst merchandising stock, creating powerful displays and maintaining the Garden Centre to the highest possible standard.
Key Responsibilities
- To provide a professional, friendly and efficient service to the Garden Centre's customers, understanding their needs and requirements.
- Maintaining the highest standards of store presentation and cleanliness, including shop floor, garden centre and display areas
- Developing a relationship with nurseries/garden suppliers to avail of constantly changing seasonal offerings and trends
- Delivering sales growth and achieving sales targets
- Lead the Garden Centre Team
- Plant husbandry and maintenance
- Delivering excellent customer service to all customers
- Merchandising stock & creating powerful displays
- Maintain stock control to ensure fresh offerings to customers
- Maintain & continuously develop excellent levels of product knowledge
- Managing point-of-sale processes, including cash, card and credit transactions
- Comply with health & safety regulations
- Flexibility to provide support to all areas of the store
The ideal candidate will have;
- Will be able to demonstrate a love of gardening and a good general knowledge of the gardening industry
- A qualification in Horticulture would be advantageous, not essential
- Works well as part of a close-knit team
- Must build and maintain customer relationships, delivering an excellent customer experience.
- The ability to work effectively on initiative and as part of a team
- Excellent customer focus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and good attention to detail
