A leading manufacturing business in Longford is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to carry out plant maintenance, preventative maintenance, and project work on a range of industrial equipment.

This role offers the opportunity to work on varied machinery and plant systems, with regular overtime available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery and equipment.

  • Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to minimise downtime.

  • Support installation and commissioning of new machinery.

  • Work with hydraulics and mechanical automation systems.

  • Maintain high standards of safety and follow established procedures.

  • Collaborate effectively within the maintenance team to achieve production targets.

Requirements:

  • Trade qualified fitter with strong mechanical knowledge.

  • Minimum 3 years’ post-apprenticeship experience in a manufacturing or plant environment.

  • Solid understanding of maintenance processes and plant operations.

  • Strong communication, organisational, and multitasking skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • High attention to detail with a proactive, self-motivated approach.

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodology (advantageous).

  • Electrical experience beneficial but not essential.
