About the Role

FRS are partnering with a well -known Organisation that plays a key role in providing a variety of services and supports to a vast amount of individuals with an intellectual disability or autism and also support for their families.

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Financial Accountant to join their Finance Team. This is a key role responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring compliance with statutory and organisational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management Accounts
    • Prepare monthly management accounts, including journals and reconciliations.
    • Lead year-end accounts preparation and liaise with external auditors.
    • Deliver cost reports and variance analyses to support budgeting and strategic decisions.
    • Prepare and submit monthly financial reports and KPIs to the HSE.
  • Banking & Cashflow
    • Review monthly bank reconciliations across all accounts.
    • Monitor cashflow to meet organisational requirements.
  • Accounts Payable & Procurement
    • Review and authorise payments.
    • Lead implementation of ICT solutions for Accounts Payable.
  • Accounts Receivable & Income
    • Supervise receivables and income systems.
  • Finance Department Cover
    • Provide cover for Finance Operations Manager and Finance Officer during absences.
  • Other Duties
    • Participate in special projects.
    • Provide guidance to administrative staff on finance issues.
    • Represent the organisation on national working groups.
    • Support Head of Finance and Finance Operations Manager with ad hoc tasks.

Essential Requirements

  • Membership of an approved accountancy body (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA).
  • Significant experience in monthly reporting, year-end accounts, and external audit.
  • Advanced MS Excel and strong MS Office skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Honest, trustworthy, and adaptable with strong problem-solving ability.

Desirable

  • Experience in statutory audits within practice.
  • Budget preparation and internal control development.
  • ICT systems knowledge and ability to identify weaknesses.
  • People management experience.
