FRS Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading Irish Civil Engineering organisation in their search for a Financial Accountant to join their senior finance team. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy of a well-established and forward-thinking company.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the Financial Accountant will be a key member of the finance team. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, providing leadership and strategic insight while ensuring robust financial governance and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage teams to deliver internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and analyse Group Financial Statements to strict deadlines.
  • Develop financial forecasts for the group and its subsidiaries.
  • Produce trading updates and strategic commentary.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance and leadership.
  • Oversee the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
  • Ensure effective financial controls and compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function.
  • Support business development and strategic projects.
  • Mentor and develop finance team members.
  • Engage with key internal and external stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Minimum 7+ years’ post-qualification experience.

Desirable:

  • Strong technical accounting expertise.
  • Construction/Engineering Industry experience.
  • Commercial acumen with experience in strategic financial projects.
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines in a complex environment.
  • Knowledge of Irish tax legislation.
  • Project management experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership in dynamic, fast-paced settings.
