An opportunity exists for a highly competent Engineering Manager to join the senior management team. The role requires an experienced engineer with proven vision, teamwork, and responsibility, as well as demonstrable people management skills across diverse, multinational teams.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent customer-facing skills, perform well under pressure, and maintain a professional manner while identifying and addressing customer needs during the design, deployment, and ongoing support of engineering solutions
Overview of Role

Reports directly to the COO as part of the Management Team.

Oversees daily operations of approximately 15 skilled engineers across SCADA and Telecommunications teams.

Develops and instils standards for design and development across multiple solutions and sectors.
Key Responsibilities
-
Lead, support, and manage the Engineering Team to deliver successful outcomes.
-
Drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
-
Recruit, interview, and onboard new engineering staff.
-
Define departmental and individual KPIs aligned with strategic goals.
-
Conduct annual reviews and implement development plans.
-
Identify training needs and maintain capability matrices.
-
Collaborate with Operations Managers to ensure solutions are delivered on time, to budget, and to the highest quality.

Oversee pre-sales activities and provide technical sign-off for designs and tenders.

Work with Sales to shape and implement solution roadmaps.
-
Hold the engineering team accountable to KPIs, budgets, deadlines, and quality standards.

Build and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.

Ensure compliance with ISO policies and best security practices (ISO27001, NIS, IEC62483).

Remain current with modern technologies and ensure engineering staff maintain expertise.
Technical Skills & Experience
-
Minimum 10 year's experience in SCADA, PLC, and communication solutions.

Strong knowledge of engineering theory and design principles.
-
Proven supervisory and leadership capabilities with effective delegation skills.
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Master’s degree desirable.
-
Proficiency with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
-
Familiarity with SCADA, HMI, PLC, Microwave, DMR, Wi-Fi, MPLS, GSM, DWDM, and IP Networking.

Experience with Six Sigma, Agile, or Lean methods advantageous.

Strong analytical, database, and problem-solving skills.
