About the Role
My client is a leading Irish civil engineering contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects. Their expertise spans roads, drainage, utilities, groundworks, and large-scale commercial and residential developments.
They’re now seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to strengthen technical and project delivery capabilities, ensuring engineering excellence across their portfolio.
What You’ll Do

Lead and manage the engineering function across multiple projects

Mentor and support engineers, site managers, and project teams

Oversee temporary works, method statements, and designs to ensure compliance with Irish standards

Work with design teams, consultants, and local authorities to resolve technical issues
-
Manage setting-out, quality control, and technical assurance on site
-
Ensure compliance with HSA regulations and safety systems
-
Provide technical input during tendering and pre-construction stages
-
Implement and monitor quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001)

Lead problem-solving and value engineering initiatives

Support the development of graduate and site engineers, building a strong technical culture
What We’re Looking For
-
Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
-
Chartered Engineer (or working towards it) with Engineers Ireland
-
7+ years’ experience in civil engineering, with 3+ years in a senior engineering/management role
-
Proven track record delivering civil infrastructure projects in Ireland

Strong knowledge of Irish design standards, Public Works Contracts & NEC contracts
-
Skilled in surveying instruments, AutoCAD & project planning tools
-
Excellent leadership, communication & problem-solving skills
-
Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
