ENERGY MANAGER – PUBLIC TRANSPORT
A major Irish public transport provider is seeking a Senior Energy Manager to lead its energy strategy and drive efficiency, compliance, and renewable energy initiatives across nationwide operations.
In this high-impact role, you’ll deliver both strategic direction and practical implementation across fleet and facilities. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, government agencies, and technical teams to support the company’s transition to a low-carbon, sustainable future.
This role offer a very generous salary & pension scheme, 25 day AL (rising to 28 after 5 years), subsidized GP care, free travel and a strong WFH/Remote Working policy. You can be based anywhere in Ireland but with the proviso that you have to open to a certain level of travel to the organisations various sites and to the company’s HQ in Dublin for meetings.
What You Need
- Level 8 degree in engineering, energy, or environmental management
- Strong experience improving energy performance
- Knowledge of fuel legislation, compliance, and public-sector requirements
- Understanding of renewable fuels and sustainability trends
- Excellent communication and stakeholder influence
- (Desirable) Postgrad qualification, ISO 50001 experience, EEOS/SEAI reporting
Key Responsibilities
- Lead energy efficiency and fuel transition programmes
- Support adoption of renewable and low-carbon energy sources
- Ensure compliance with all energy and fuel legislation (incl. RTFO)
- Represent the organisation with SEAI, NTA, Government bodies, and CIE
- Manage Energy Efficiency Action Plans and SEAI PSMR updates
- Maintain ISO 50001 certification and secure EEOS funding
- Oversee major decarbonisation projects across fleet and facilities
