Overview:
A well-established and privately owned group of nursing homes in County Limerick is seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Nursing (DON). This is a key senior leadership role with clinical oversight across two care facilities, with strong support from an experienced clinical team and a newly appointed Chief Operating Officer.
The position is based in a care facility in South County Limerick, with on-call responsibilities at a sister facility in Limerick every second or third weekend.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide overall clinical leadership and strategic direction across both sites.

Ensure delivery of high-quality, person-centred care in line with HIQA standards.

Lead, support, and develop nursing and care teams.

Participate in the on-call rota every 2nd or 3rd weekend across both facilities.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including ADON, CNM, and operational staff.
Candidate Requirements:

Registered in the General Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).

Minimum 10 years post-registration experience, including:

At least 3 years in older person care.

At least 7 years in nursing management.

Level 8 qualification in nursing or a related field (QQI/NFQ).

Post-registration management qualification in health or a related discipline.

Strong knowledge of HIQA standards, policy development, and risk management.

Proven experience in clinical audits and governance.

Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
