About the Service
This role is based within a specialist adult mental health and neurodisability service offering long-term and recovery-focused care. The multidisciplinary team provides holistic, person-centred treatment to adults with complex mental health needs and neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and dementia-related disorders.
You’ll join an experienced, collaborative team that includes Psychiatry, Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Physiotherapy, Social Work and Dietetics. The service is known for its supportive environment and strong focus on evidence-based practice and quality of life outcomes.
Role Overview
The post holder will provide a comprehensive dietetic service for adults with mental health and neurodisability needs in a long-term care setting. This includes nutritional assessment, treatment planning, and ongoing evaluation to promote optimal health and well-being. The role also involves contributing to multidisciplinary meetings, providing expert advice to colleagues, and leading quality improvement initiatives within the service.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality clinical nutrition and dietetic interventions for adults with neuro and mental health conditions.

Conduct nutritional assessments and develop evidence-based care plans tailored to individual needs.

Manage complex feeding issues including enteral feeding and oral-motor dysfunction.

Work as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care.

Participate in case conferences, team meetings and service planning.

Contribute to the development of clinical policies, care pathways and quality improvement projects.

Provide education and guidance to colleagues and/or student dietitians.

Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure adherence to CORU standards and professional codes of practice.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:

Recognised qualification in Dietetics and CORU registration (or eligibility for same).

Minimum 1.5 years post-qualification experience.

Experience working with adults with neurodisability and/or mental health conditions.

Evidence of ongoing professional development.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable:

Experience providing clinical supervision or training.

Experience leading MDT meetings or service improvement initiatives.

Research or audit experience.
