Dementia Advisor – Clare
We are currently seeking a full-time Dementia Advisor (39 hours per week) to work hybrid under a permanent contract, with office support based in Co Clare area.
Role Overview:
Reporting to the Dementia Advisor Service Coordinator, the Dementia Advisor will act as a key point of contact on an outreach basis for individuals concerned about cognitive health or living with a dementia diagnosis, as well as their families and friends. Support will be provided throughout all stages of the dementia journey, from diagnosis through to end-of-life.
Responsibilities include offering practical assistance, advice, emotional support, and accurate information. The role also involves directing individuals and families to appropriate services and helping them navigate the health and social care systems effectively.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will have:

A primary degree or equivalent in a relevant health or social care discipline.

Strong understanding of dementia and its impacts.

Practical experience working with individuals with dementia.

Familiarity with the community care sector and a commitment to professional development.

Awareness of legal frameworks related to vulnerable adults (e.g., Enduring Power of Attorney, Ward of Court, Assisted Decision-Making legislation) is desirable.
Applicants must possess strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, a client-focused approach, and a full, clean driving license, as travel is a key part of the role.
Salary will align with the care sector and will be dependent on relevant experience. This position is subject to funding.
