CT Clinical Specialist – West Dublin

About the Role
A leading provider of diagnostic imaging services across Ireland is seeking an experienced CT Clinical Specialist to join its high-performing radiology team in South/West Dublin.
This role is suited to a senior radiographer with a strong clinical background in CT and a desire to take on leadership and quality assurance responsibilities in a busy, modern setting.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the day-to-day operations of the CT service, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and professional standards.

Oversee CT protocols, working in collaboration with reporting radiologists to ensure optimal image quality and diagnostic accuracy.

Ensure full compliance with SI 256 and SI 30(ionising radiation regulations), including justification, optimisation, and safety.

Provide training, supervision, and sign-off for staff operating within the CT department.

Maintain audit-readiness and a culture of continuous improvement.

Perform high-quality diagnostic CT examinations, using sound clinical judgement to adapt protocols where needed.

Accurately analyse, interpret, and communicate radiological findings.

Manage patient lists, equipment, scheduling, and daily workflow.

Support safe patient care by ensuring physical and emotional well-being during procedures.

Maintain and update Radiology Information Systems and ensure CT equipment is in good working order.

Participate in performance reviews and contribute to professional development across the team.
Additional Responsibilities

Provide occasional cross-cover in other imaging modalities such as MRI, X-ray, or DXA.

Follow all local and national radiation protection policies, including ALARA principles and safe examination protocols for women of reproductive age.

Support the safe transfer and positioning of patients during examinations.

Maintain full and accurate records of all imaging performed, including dose metrics and scan times.
Candidate Requirements

BSc in Diagnostic Radiography(or equivalent).

Minimum 6 years post-qualification experience, including extensive work in complex CT imaging.

CORU registration(active).
-
Postgraduate qualification in CT(e.g. MSc) is desirable.

Up-to-date knowledge of radiation legislation and clinical governance.

Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
