Why Join Us?

This is more than a job – it’s a chance to help shape a new Child & Family Assessment Service from the ground up. You’ll be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team focused on early intervention, neurodiversity-informed practice, and family-centred care.

If you’re a psychologist who values autonomy, teamwork, and seeing the impact of your work, this role offers professional challenge plus the opportunity to influence how services are delivered.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Carry out comprehensive psychological assessments (cognitive, educational, socio-emotional)

  • Use tools such as WISC-V, WPPSI-IV, WIAT-III, BASC-3, Conners-4

  • Prepare clear, family-friendly reports for parents, schools, and referrers

  • Provide strengths-based feedback sessions with parents and carers

  • Collaborate with OTs, SLTs, GPs, and educators to ensure joined-up care

  • Contribute to service pathways and protocols during the start-up phase

What We’re Looking For

  • Doctoral qualification in Psychology (Educational, Clinical, Counselling, or equivalent)

  • Chartered membership of the Psychological Society of Ireland

  • 1–2+ years post-qualification experience, ideally with children and families

  • Knowledge of child development, neurodiversity, and evidence-based assessment

  • Strong report-writing and communication skills

  • Garda Vetting (required)

Desirable

  • Experience in private practice assessments

  • Knowledge of ASD, ADHD, or DCD diagnostic pathways

  • Familiarity with the Irish education system

  • Experience in a multidisciplinary setting

What’s On Offer

  • Competitive salary (DOE)

  • CPD funding, paid training, and fuel allowance

  • Purpose-built assessment rooms with high-quality tools and resources

  • Strong administrative support and streamlined booking system

  • Flexibility to consider part-time or temporary contracts during start-up

  • Opportunity to influence a new service and see your ideas put into practice

  • Supportive, values-driven team culture
