We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Payroll Clerical Officer Grade IV to join our Finance/Payroll Department. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, supporting hospital operations and staff.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Working as part of the Payroll team, under supervision and guidance where required, the successful candidate will:

  • Process hospital payrolls efficiently and accurately, ensuring all calculations and verifications are completed on time.

  • Complete all relevant monthly, annual, and ad hoc payroll returns for Revenue and staff.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll, pension, and statutory records.

  • Liaise closely with HR business partners and departmental managers.

  • Support the development and implementation of new systems and processes in response to legislative and operational changes.

  • Address payroll queries from staff in a timely and professional manner.

  • Carry out general office duties and cover for other payroll colleagues as required.

  • Maintain GDPR standards and data confidentiality in line with Policy.

  • Take part in change management, flexible rosters, and special assignments where necessary.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience in processing payroll in a busy environment.

  • Proficiency in SAP HR Payroll or similar systems.

  • Strong numerical and IT skills, including Microsoft Office proficiency.

  • Understanding of payroll cycles, statutory returns, and pension-related public sector guidelines.

  • Experience in a hospital or public sector setting.

  • Familiarity with multi-cycle payrolls and high-volume data systems.

  • Exposure to change management initiatives (e.g., new systems, shared services).
