Position: Cath Lab Nurse

Qualifications:

- Registered in the general division of NMBI in Ireland
- Must hold registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.

- Demonstrated Evidence of Personal Professional Development
- Show evidence of continuous personal and professional growth.

- Continuous Skills Training – Relevant to Patient Care Requirements
- Engage in ongoing skills training that is pertinent to the patient care demands.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assessment, Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation:

- Patient Assessment:
- Employ assessment skills to identify patient needs upon admission.
- Thoroughly and accurately document nursing admission assessments.

- Care Planning:
- Develop and document comprehensive care plans based on patient needs and best practices.
- Regularly update written or computerized care plans.

- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with healthcare team members in the defined clinical area based on the patient care plan.
- Communicate relevant information verbally and in writing to appropriate nursing personnel.

- Safety and Advocacy:
- Maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and colleagues.
- Advocate for patients, respecting their dignity and confidentiality.

2. Communication Skills:

- Document Maintenance:
- Keep documents in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Hospital/Clinic.
- Update documents to reflect physical and emotional symptoms and changes.

- Team Communication:
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and other members of the healthcare team.
- Attend and contribute to staff meetings and team briefings.

3. Professional Expectations:

- Compliance and Flexibility:
- Operate within the limits of NMBI and hospital policies, procedures, and standards.
- Demonstrate flexibility by assisting in other areas of the hospital as required.

- Personal Development:
- Set annual goals and objectives with CNM (Clinical Nurse Manager).
- Continue to develop personal knowledge and skills.

- Supervision and Education:
- Provide direct supervision to other members of the nursing team when appropriate.
- Participate in the education of learners and assist with the orientation of new personnel.
