We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Business Development Manager to join a growing team in the operational telecoms sector, focusing on the national rail and transport industries.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive business growth by promoting a portfolio of operational telecoms solutions and security products to new clients across the UK, Ireland, and Europe.

Role Purpose:
Lead and promote communications and security products to key accounts, with the objective of achieving financial targets while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive revenue growth and acquire new business by identifying opportunities in the market.

  • Build detailed profiles of target clients, including contacts, roles, existing systems, competitor activity, and potential opportunities.

  • Set short, medium, and long-term objectives for accounts and define target lists and timelines for new business sectors and customers.

  • Ensure timely reporting, including monthly sales meetings and quarterly performance reviews, to track progress against objectives.

  • Prepare focused presentations detailing activity, progress, and outlook.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to identify and develop sales collateral to support business development efforts.

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Academic qualification in business, engineering, or management.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience with sales techniques and solution-based selling.

  • Proficiency in data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.

  • Proven ability to plan, organize, and manage resources effectively.

Core Competencies, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Demonstrated success in acquiring new business and delivering solution sales.

  • Experience in operational telecoms, communications, or related sectors; national rail/transport experience is desirable.

  • Proven ability to manage stakeholders in a matrix organization.
