Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
We are seeking experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanics to join a busy maintenance team. This role involves working across a mixed fleet, with a preference for candidates specialising in bus vehicles, and carrying out a wide range of mechanical duties to a high technical and safety standard.
What You Will Do

Carry out maintenance, inspections, diagnostics and repairs across all fleet types in line with company standards and safety regulations.

Present vehicles in a ready to use condition after repair, ensuring all touchpoints function and the vehicle is clean inside and out.

Complete accurate reports and maintain clear communication with supervisors and colleagues.

Support and train apprentices as required.

Participate in ongoing upskilling and CPD activities.

Use resources efficiently, take initiative, and work to agreed timelines.

Strong fleet reliability and vehicle availability.

Timely and high quality repairs with a high first time pass rate for CVRTs and RSA inspections.

Reduced driver defects and consistent attendance and punctuality.

Environmentally responsible work practices.
What You Need
-
QQI Level 6 in Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or Construction Plant Fitting.

Strong technical knowledge and experience in a similar environment.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Specialising in bus vehicles preferred.
Desirable

Bus licence (D)

Breakdown or recovery experience

Manual handling training

General Details
-
Monday to Friday roster, with occasional weekend cover.

Reports to the Garage Team Leader and Garage Supervisors.

Salary: €43,317.54 per annum or €830.37 per week.
