Overview:
A leading international building materials group is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join its technical team in County Louth. The role involves maintaining and developing advanced plant automation and control systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Maintain, develop, and optimise plant automation and control systems

Act as Network Owner for control system servers, software, and communications

Manage Siemens PCS7 systems, ensuring operational stability and efficiency

Design, program, and implement control software for new projects and plant upgrades

Conduct system troubleshooting, loop tuning, commissioning, and testing
-
Oversee software upgrades, patch management, and data archiving processes
-
Liaise with control system suppliers and provide technical support across departments
Candidate Profile:
-
Degree (or equivalent) in engineering, automation, or a related technical discipline
-
Minimum 5 year's relevant experience in industrial automation

Proficiency in PCS7, Step 7, Simatic Manager, and WinCC
-
Strong understanding of PLC programming (CFC, FBD, STL)

Familiarity with Windows OS, networking, SQL, and cybersecurity principles
-
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
-
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment
Working Hours:
-
Monday to Thursday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
