Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

Location: Gorey, Co. Wexford
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hrs/week
Start Date: Immediate

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced ADON to step into a senior management position in a friendly, person-centred nursing home near Gorey. As ADON you will support the Person in Charge / DON, lead our care and nursing team, and help ensure delivery of high-quality, safe and compassionate care to residents.

What We’re Looking For

  • Registered Nurse on the live register with NMBI, eligible to work in Ireland

  • Minimum 3 years post-registration experience, including prior management or supervisory experience at CNM-level or equivalent in older-person care / nursing home setting

  • Strong understanding of regulatory standards for residential care (e.g. HIQA standards)

  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills

  • Evidence of continuous professional development

  • Desirable: Formal management qualification or willingness to complete — training will be supported

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Person in Charge / DON in day-to-day clinical and operational management

  • Provide leadership, mentorship and supervision to care and nursing staff

  • Ensure person-centred, safe, dignified care in line with HIQA standards and regulations

  • Contribute to clinical governance, quality assurance, audits, policy compliance and continuous improvement

  • Support staff training, development and adherence to best-practice standards
