Our client, a well-established and reputable business in the agri sector based in Roscrea, Co. Tipperary, is seeking to recruit an Accounts Payable Assistant for a maternity leave contract. This is a key support role within the finance team, and the successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the accounts payable function.

Job Title: Accounts Payable Assistant (Maternity Cover)
Location: Roscrea, Co. Tipperary
Sector: Agri / Agriculture
Contract Type: Maternity cover - Fixed-Term Contract (6–7 months)
Working Hours: Flexible – 25 to 40 hours per week (to suit candidate availability)


Key Responsibilities:

  • Process high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner

  • Match, batch, and code invoices in accordance with company procedures

  • Reconcile supplier statements and follow up on discrepancies

  • Prepare payment runs and liaise with suppliers regarding payment queries

  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation is filed correctly

  • Liaise with internal departments to resolve invoice or PO issues

  • Assist with month-end processes and reporting as required

  • Support the finance team with ad-hoc duties as necessary


Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounts payable or similar finance role

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Experience with accounting software packages (e.g., Sage, SAP, or similar) is desirable

  • Previous experience in an agri or manufacturing environment would be an advantage but is not essential


Terms & Benefits:

  • Contract Length: 6 to 7 months (maternity cover)

  • Hours: Part-time (25 hours) or full-time (up to 40 hours) – flexible based on candidate

  • On-site role – office-based in Roscrea
