The Client:

Our services were engaged by a large teaching Hospital in Cork City.

The Brief:

The expertise of our entire Healthcare Team were utilised for this recruitment campaign. In partnership with our client we identified and clarified both the immediate and longer term needs of the hospital. The hospital was considering, the possibility of opening a new ward but was concerned by their existing unfilled vacancies coupled with the volume of scheduled annual leave amongst their theatre nurse staff, medical and oncology doctors. The hospital also intended to fill their open contract cardiac technician positions.

Subsequently the hospital’s staffing requirements were as follows:

  • Theatre Nurses
  • Cardiac Technicians
  • Medical and Oncology doctors

Process we undertook:

Having worked in partnership with the hospital to identify their needs we developed a recruitment campaign tailored to address the immediate and longer term needs of the hospital. The resulting recruitment campaign was influenced by market research, timeframe and the priorities of the client which were all considered by the FRS Healthcare Team.

We met our client hospital, introduced the team and decided on recruitment strategy based on exact client requirements.

The Search:

Our Specialist recruiters sourced candidates from the required disciplines. However all the information was streamlined through one designated point of contact –a project manager- to ease the communication process for our client. We completed a major advertising campaign, using healthcare job boards both nationally and internationally, in conjunction with this online presence our team searched our existing extensive database of suitably qualified and skilled candidate’s.

All prospective candidates were rigorously screened before being formally submitted for consideration to the client. Candidates shortlisted for interview were prepped and advised of the interview date etc. depending on the availability of the client. Candidates were identified to fulfil all of the vacant posts.

Compliance Team

The successful candidates then moved to our compliance stage. This involves:

  • Reference Checking
  • Occupational Health Screening
  • Gathering of all relevant paperwork
  • Police Clearance
  • Verified qualifications
  • Relevant registration i.e. CORU, IMC, ABA

Bureaucratic Requirements:

We offer advice and guidance on the requirements to legally enter and practice in Ireland. In this instance one of the successful cardiac technicians was relocating from the Philippines and this entailed a lot of steps to ensure she acquired all of the correct registrations and permissions. We successfully helped this candidate and the other successful applicants to acquire the relevant visas and permits to begin work with our client here in Ireland.

Result:

We successfully filled all vacancies in this instance and provided locum cover to alleviate the pressures of the scheduled annual leave. Our Team was so instrumental in facilitating the relocation process of the candidates that we now offer this as a service to the client for candidates who are acquired directly by the hospital and are in need of assistance with relocation and its demands.
