Brooks Timber and Building Supplies Ltd is one of the leading Timber and Builders Merchants in Ireland, with 7 branches nationwide, Dublin, Cork, Galway, Sligo and Midlands. Brooks employ 150 staff.

Challenge

All the way back to 2014, each branch took responsibility for local advertising and sourcing of employees, using different systems, suppliers, and processes.  Mark Lohan, Brook’s Managing Director wanted to uniform and streamline the recruitment process under one roof to create efficiencies and high-performance standardisation of all recruitment processes.

Branch Managers were losing time to focus on core business activities, a recruitment partner would be needed to help change this and supply Brooks with a national recruitment strategy. FRS Recruitment were selected as a supplier to deliver this change.

Solution

FRS Recruitment visited each branch and local manager to better understand company culture, values and the Brooks brand as presented by each location. With the view to supporting local needs but streamlining and making overall hiring more efficient and successful.

FRS Recruitment, with 10 branches across Ireland put in place a national recruitment and job advertising campaign to meet the needs of every branch under one roof. 

A Dedicated Account Manager was appointed to ensure all communication with the Branch Managers was consistent and in line with head office processes and procedures.
