Pharmacy Recruitment Ireland

pharmacist

So you are a qualified Pharmacist and thinking of returning to Ireland.  There could not be a better time.

It is not a secret that Ireland is open for business and that it is very much in a growth phase.  It has a large elderly population.   With advances in medicines, our elders are living longer than ever.  Our pharmacies are really busy and going through a growth phase with more pharmacies opening up and extended opening hours.  As a result there is a severe shortage of qualified and experienced pharmacists and pharmacy technicians and pharmacy staff in Ireland.

Although it is well known that the Pharmacy sector in Ireland is thriving, it is faced with both opportunities and challenges. However, the long-term outlook for the pharmacy sector is bright.  There are over 1,800 pharmacies in Ireland.  These pharmacies are the core of communities, providing a vital role and delivering much needed services to various communities.  According to the ESRI and based on population growth projections, demand for prescription items alone will reach 106 million by 2030 which is a 44.4% increase on 2015.  Demand for pharmaceutical consultations is expected to increase by 25.1% to around 7.5 million by 2030.

Similar to other retail groupings in the sector, pharmacists are continuously adapting their retail offering to win over more customers.  They now offer lots of extra services such as diabetes testing, baby weighing and vaccinations.  There are strong indications that pharmacists will be given more clinical responsibility by the State.  This is demonstrated by the roll out of the Flu vaccination service, and the successful Minor Ailment Scheme.

In my recent experience, I have found the best opportunities for pharmacists in Ireland is the community pharmacy sector.   I specialise in recruiting for the pharmacy sector and have strong relationships with most of the pharmacy groups in Ireland along with private independent pharmacies.  In addition to helping you find the ideal position when returning to Ireland, I will strive to find the right role for you and provide interview preparation notes and tips to help you secure your dream position.  All pharmacist positions here in Ireland require PSI registration.

There are many vacancies across the four provinces.  So if you have being thinking of returning to Ireland, please contact Brian Mahon on 086 7773856 or forward an updated CV to [email protected]

I can assure you of strict confidentiality and look forward to talking with you.
