Last month FRS consultants Miriam O'Hara and Michael MacCurtain facilitated a workshop at Roslyn Park College discussing CV and interview preparation. On Wednesday July 25th 2018, Roslyn Park College were delighted to welcome representatives from FRS Recruitment to give a presentation to our students.
Work Experience is a mandatory Module on most of the programmes delivered in Roslyn Park College and the chance to meet with Industry Recruiters proved to be a big draw with the room packed to the rafters, with standing room only by the time the presentation began.
FRS staff, Michael McCurtain and Miriam O’Hara introduced themselves to the students and covered a wide range of topics including FRS Recruiters and what they do, to CV structure, applying for jobs and cover letters. They spoke professionally and in an easy to understand manner, explaining the various roles and opportunities that are out there for our client group.
Great advice was offered on how to approach recruiters and employers as well as the interview process and its ‘Do’s & Don’ts’. This was particularly interesting and very well received. Both Michael and Miriam presented their topics in a user friendly and thoroughly engaging manner, fielding and taking questions from the audience.
As the session drew to a close, the pair offered to cast a professional ‘eye’ over CV’s that many students had brought for review. There was quite a queue but both gave each and every student something positive to take away and improve upon from the review.
Roslyn Park College was delighted that the staff from FRS afforded us the opportunity to get some insight into Recruitment and how our students can put their best foot forward in applying for work.
The success of the event can easily be measured in terms of turnout but even more so from the buzz around the college and the very positive feedback instructors got from the attendees.
