Job role

Reporting to the General Manager you will be responsible for managing a number of agricultural stores in the Midlands and South East region. You will be responsible for managing the operations of each store.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Managing the retail operations of each individual store
  • Overseeing store merchandising and standards
  • Managing stock control, wastage, wages, overheads and margins in relation to the P&L targets
  • Developing staff in the areas of customer service, salesmanship and product knowledge
  • Dealing with HR related issues.
  • Creating and implementing policies and procedures to drive efficiencies and maximise productivity

Candidate profile 

  • A proven track record in retail operations.
  • Previous management experience at operations level
  • A willingness to travel to various midland retail stores
  • Strong management experience.

Responsible for the management of dairy herdsmen the successful applicant will undergo a programme of on the job training in all business aspects reflecting the best European standards. Experience in animal husbandry is a requirement . Candidate also needs to have a number of years practical experience working on progressive dairy farms .

Core purpose of the role

To maximize production and thereby profit of the farm by planning and organizing all farm functional activities within assigned areas of responsibility and making the most efficient use of all resources at this disposal.

Academic / Professional qualification

Bachelor degree in Agriculture or equivalent qualification. 

Non academic qualification

Professional experience in the management of dairy herds.

Competencies

Livestock management skills; Must have good man management and influencing skills and be a good communicator; Driving License; Computer fluency.
