A leading medical device company in Cork currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Value Stream Manager to join their team in a world class facility.
The purpose of this role is to plan, direct and control manufacturing activities within the organisation for one Value Stream.
As Value Stream Manager you will manage and develop your team in a manner that will facilitate high performance while demonstrating strong leadership and a clear identifiable work ethos within the value stream at all times.
Being a strong communicator is key for this role and an important element of the job is to continually improve and develop communication channels while also acting as a mentor for team members.
You will be someone who is passionate about training and who can identify the training needs of staff and opportunities /assignments for development so as to maximise people's potential.
You will be actively involved in recruitment and will need to have an eye for talent and for spotting potential. You will also be responsible for developing goals/objectives for your team and completing performance reviews and appraisals. You will also be tasked with creating opportunities to reward both individual and team success
This role will require you to act as the voice of the customer at all times while instilling and maintaining a sense of urgency within Value Stream. As manager you will champion HSEE and will also promote a quality-focused culture within the team ensuring cGMP's are adhered to at all times.
You will also be responsible for reducing the cost of manufacture on a year-on-year basis while actively encouraging & facilitating the implementation of innovative solutions to ensure quality while delivering lower costs and shorter lead times.
You will be working closely with a range of stakeholders/ departments from Operations, Engineering, Quality etc as well as external groups such as training bodies and suppliers so the ability to liaise well with people from a variety of backgrounds and teams is imperative in this position.
You will need to be both skilled and experienced in strategic planning and able to offer leadership and vision to both your team and to the other groups that you will be working with.
This role require a systems thinker who is always focused on objectives and results with strong problem solving abilities and an aptitude for mastering complexity.
As with any people management role you will need to be an effective communicate with the ability to facilitate with a high level of tact and discretion
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
You must hold a relevant Third level Qualification and have completed a minimum of 3 years experience in a Production Team Leader/Co-coordinator role within a multinational company ideally within the health-care or medical devices sector.
