QC Analyst

Job Overview

Our client, a large Pharma based in South Tipperary currently have a job available for a Senior QC Analyst

Reporting to the Quality Control Supervisor, the Senior Analyst's duties/responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:-

* The Senior Analyst will be part of a team responsible for the on time testing of products and materials.
* All activities which lead to the efficient, timely and accurate generation and documentation of analytical results including but not limited to consumable purchase, analytical testing, method trouble shooting, problem solving and provision of technical guidance to analysts
* Sampling and/or testing of swabs, raw materials, intermediates, finished product and stability samples
* Training of analysts and contribute to general cross training and development of laboratory personnel
* Facilitate daily laboratory status meetings
* Advanced Empower users and/or system administrators
* Work with supervisors to ensure data integrity of laboratory results
* HPLC and/or GC subject matter expert
* Peer review of analytical data and data transfer checks into quality documents
* Ensure timely updates to procedures, analytical methods and specifications as required
* Complete continuous improvement general project work
* Actively contribute to upkeep of lab including management of samples and sample storage areas, waste disposal, filing, purchasing and ensuring laboratory systems and processes are maintained
* Contribute to the implementation, development and improvement of equipment, process workflows and procedures within the QC area as required
* Ensure all processes and practices within the laboratories, associated areas embrace the principles of continuous improvement, good housekeeping and high levels of compliance with Safety, Health and Welfare at Work

The ideal candidate should have:
* 3rd level qualification, preferably to a BSc level or above, in a science related field
* Must have a minimum of five years or more relevant experience within a laboratory function ; with a minimum of three years' experience within a regulated environment
* Demonstrated technical proficiency in multiple areas across QC function
* Strong problem solving abilities and provide technical guidance to laboratory co-workers
* Have a positive, co-operative outlook and work well as part of a team
