The Role

The Materials Engineering Program Manager represents an exciting and demanding leadership position with one of the highest profile groups within my client's organisation.

In this role you will be responsible for the development, growth and delivery for the Materials portfolio of products for a defined virtual team working cross functionally with to ensure that all projects are executed successfully.

You will collaborate with a range of different internal groups and stakeholders including Engineering, Source, R&D, Quality, Regulatory and Operations and you will be the person responsible for identifying and leading a strategic team Virtual team that will focus on managing the materials related spend for the relevant suppliers and manufacturing facilities

Your team will identify and deliver engineering projects ensuring optimum process capability and design for manufacturability for legacy and new products and as Program Manager you will be responsible for process standardisation, portfolio execution and the development of the Virtual Team technology road-map to transform the manufacturing process end to end.

Qualifications & Expereicne:

You will be degree qualified in Engineering, Science or a related Discipline and a Master/Ph.D. In engineering, science or a related discipline is very desirable for this role

The Fit:

Given the nature of the job to be successful in this position you will need to have a high level understanding of materials related manufacturing processes with an emphasis on forgings.

From a management perspective my client is looking for candidates with 8-10 years people management expertise and you will also be an expert on developing and implementing processes for new products.

This role will suit candidates who are currently holding a Senior Technical/Management role in a medical device or high tech organisation and previous R & D management experience specifically in medical device would be hugely beneficial.

You will also need to have extensive experience with risk management processes and enjoy being the decision maker on technical and management issues.

Finally you will be a strong PM with a proven track record in executing projects that have exceeded business metrics with regard to quality, service, growth and value.
