Corporate PSL Lawyer - Part-time

Job Overview

Our client, a top commercial law firm in Dublin City Centre is now looking to recruit a Corporate Solicitor to work as an M&A Professional Support Lawyer on a full-time or a part-time basis (3 or 4 days per week) to support the lawyers in its busy Corporate department, focusing on M&A, across a number of areas outlined below, including the design and delivery of learning and development (L&D) programmes.

This role might suit a corporate solicitor who would like to take a step back from transactional work for a year without losing touch with market and legislative activity in the area, or a corporate law solicitor who is looking to return to the corporate law workforce from some time off.

The job is a 12 month contract role, reporting to the Head of Corporate and the Head of L&D. The individual will work directly with Corporate M&A Practice Group Leaders, other M&A corporate partners, and the Head of Knowledge Management, to ensure coherent and consistent knowledge management and L&D programmes

Responsibilities

Know-how

* Drafting and updating precedents and practice notes on specific topics
* Collecting and capturing know-how
* Keeping lawyers in the Department are kept up to date on all relevant developments
* Preparation of electronic bibles of relevant documents
* Reviewing sections of legislation, particularly regarding the new Companies Bill.
* Complete monthly updates for the Corporate Group on relevant new legislation
* Review documents for the Knowledge Management system

Learning & Development

* Arranging Department -wide seminars on topical issues (including round table discussions for all corporate practice groups at all levels), in particular regarding the Companies Bill
* Coordinating seminars for each new rotation of trainees, new-qualifiers and new-joiners
* Presenting on recent developments,
* Working closely with the L&D team to identify non-technical learning needs and to design and deliver well-designed L&D programmes for corporate fee earners

Client-facing Role

* Drafting client briefings
* Assisting in arranging client seminars/webinars
* Coordinating/managing and updating client contacts lists
* Preparing responses for legal directories and awards submissions
* Assisting in the provision of material for inclusion in tender documents


Skills, experience and attributes required of the ideal candidate

* A senior corporate lawyer (ideally 5+ years' pqe )
* Strong academic background
* Completed traineeship and worked as an M&A associate in a large commercial law firm
* Has recently been in private practice
* Have knowledge of company law and private M&A, as well as an interest in the new Companies Bill
* Demonstrated interest in learning and development and design and delivery skills
* Demonstrated interest and literacy in IT
* Excellent written and communications skills
* Project management and organisation skills
* Ability to work as part of diverse team
* Ability to persuade and influence senior individuals
* Ability to work to deadlines, manage multiple projects and deliver under pressure
* Excellent attention to detail
* Ability to work in a fast paced, demanding environment
* Ability to work on own initiative
